Our Philosophy for the Restoration of historical keyboard instruments
Notes by Pooya Radbon , Restorer, Curator and Musician.
The restoration of any historical instrument is a controversial subject and is bound to preferences. Musicians like these instrument not to be restored but they also love to own them. Curators of Museums are mostly not restorers but conservators so they tend to prefer people coming and watching the musical instruments that were made to be played and then throughout the history being restored well or sometimes not good at all now as furniture exposed in their museums that are paid by governments and in most cases governments do not pay restorers of musicial instruments, paintings and other pieces of our cultural heritage to come back to life.
